Social Work Services for children in Spain

Are you working with a child or children who reside in Spain or are about to move there?

Are you looking to assess kinship carers be they ex pat British nationals or extended family that are Spanish and living in Spain?

Do you need support with Spanish Social Services or Education Department for a child you are working with?

Help is at Hand

We are already working with a number of local authorities, Children’s Guardians and solicitors providing a range of different support services tailored to the child and the local authorities individual requirements, for example helping in transition plans for children placed with permanent carers, undertaking boarding out visits to a child still under UK jurisdiction that is now living here in Spain or direct work to prevent placement breakdown. Could you do with our assistance too?

We have a combined experience of 38 years in UK social work, and we are both registered with the GSCC and have up to date police checks.

We have lived and worked in Spain for over 7 years and are fully conversant in the language.

We are based in the Valencia region with good access to the whole of Spain. Our extensive knowledge and experience of Looked After Children, Child Protection and direct experience of adoption, along with our ability to speak Spanish, has enabled us to help support families and undertake work on behalf of a number of local authorities in the UK. We have also undertaken Kinship Assessments of families here in Spain to help inform courts of the possible opportunities of children being placed with extended family resident here. We are flexible in our delivery of support giving children the utmost priority.

Our support packages include:

  • Home visits and boarding out visits
  • Independent Child Care reviews
  • Case work
  • Direct work with children and their families
  • Liaising with Spanish Social Services, Education and Health Professionals
  • Attending court hearings if required
  • Provide reports for social services
  • Supporting the whole family to aid them all to adapt to their new situation
  • Regulation 38 Kinship Assessments
